Create Reflection
How has the Create module prepared you to meet each standard listed above? Link to or provide specific examples from your work in Create.Standard B: The online teacher understands and is able to use a range of technologies, both existing and emerging, that effectively support student learning and engagement in the online environment.
- Creating lessons for online classes can encompass a variety of tools. A teacher must outline what is important for each topic in his/her curriculum and then decide on the tool that will do the job. For instance in my Google Tools lesson I used Google myMaps, Calendar. Google voice, Youtube and Docs, Sheets and slides.

Standard C:
The online teacher plans, designs, and incorporates strategies to
encourage active learning, application, interaction, participation, and
collaboration in the online environment. myMaps in Google maps, Spark presentation tools, Meta-chart.

- When using online tools the students need to interact to learn. This is best shown in Kahoot! or Socrative games.

- Standard E: The online teacher models, guides, and encourages legal, ethical, and safe behavior related to technology use.
For all my lessons I would give a citation list and post it on our website. This shows students how to use information and cite correctly. This lesson uses the resources from https://www.netsmartz.org/TeachingResources website. This cite has age specific articles. videos, worksheets and activities to lead students.
- What strategies will you take away from the Create module and apply to your teaching?
- What lessons were most beneficial for you?
Organizing and outlining the tools and when to use them is important as the students work their way through the material. for example learning about secure websites used several tools as outline in the lesson below.
Objsect Authoring tools, described throughout this blog, would be used by teachers and students to provide a differentiated way of learning and assessing. Some of those tools were the Google Tools. Apps such as myMap. Sheets. Presentation. Adobe Spark is another great tool for teacher to use as a way of showing the tool and then have the students use it to describe their own learning.
CC resources is a great way to again Model and then have the students use. It allows the author to look for copyrighted materials without fear of plagiarism. It also shows students the proper laws in regard to intellectual property so that their own creations are protected.
