Answer in your blog:
Which sites exemplify sound design ideals? why?
Organized navigation - 3-clicks, multiple ways, accessibility.
Color scheme
Clear statement of purpose
Contrasting colors
Being able to tell where you are
Current - date in copyright
https://www.socrative.com/ - this site does three things and those things are listed on the front page of the site. Quick and easy. This was proven as I had not been back to it in a few years and I could still find everything.

https://code.org/ - this site has grown over the last few years but the site has stayed true to it's purpose. I can get anywhere within 3-clicks.

https://academicearth.org/ - Stated purpose right on front page. Navigation done well in that you can see the main menus or use the links at bottom. Color scheme that same but a bit different for each category. Multiple ways of finding things, up to date and informative. Date in copyright.

https://www.udemy.com - Straight to the point, student, teacher or do you want to create courses for us. Easy to navigate. Search engine right at the top of the screen. Remembered me enough to put courses it thought I would like so I did not have to go far.

https://www.coursera.org/ - Brought me right to where I needed to be after logging in. Nice clean site, color and font scheme really recognizable.

Does not exemplify sound ideals - why?
https://www.khanacademy.org/ - Navigation, I love khan academy. there is so much to this site and it is great, but the other day when I was trying to find my personal results of my Math test, I could not find it, in part because the correct phrase was not coming to mind, but you would think it would be in my profile. I had to go to google and search for Khan Academy Math test which brought me to Math placement test and then I got it.

https://codehs.com - This is a great site but it does have a bit of a problem with navigation and knowing where you are. For instance I can log in as a teacher or a student. Should have a slightly different color scheme so that you know where you are. I have slipped back and forth and never known it. I don't expect them to give to give up their color scheme or brand, but there should but you should know, as an education professional, where you are.

https://www.edx.org/ - Looks a little like an ad, uses cookies (not a big fan of that), a few more than 3-clicks. I can see people giving up on this after a few minutes.

https://www.snhu.edu/ - College website, difficult to find some information, more than three clicks.

http://www.openculture.com/, popup right when I went there insisting I turn on ads. That made me want to run away. Looks like an ad, not sure what their message is.

Provide a screenshot of 2 websites considered to offer a compare and contrast of design elements.
Clean and to the point, Coursera.com - brings me to the main points fo the site and let's me know simply what is available

To much information, cluttered - makes me want to look elsewhere. Colleges, an ad and then another ad makes me think they will be watching me.
